Brief Biography
I am an Accredited Financial Counselor®, and my scholarship examines family economic well-being. Areas of current and past research are household finance, poverty and economic hardship, and housing for special populations. Current projects focus on inter-generational transmission of financial literacy and practices and associations between financial preparation and subjective well-being in aging society.
Courses recently taught include FCS 120 Adulting: Managing Your Resources, FCS 320 Family Resource Management, FCS 380 Family and Consumer Sciences Foundations and Research, and FCS 424 Aging and Resource Management. I serve as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Family and Economic Issues and on the editorial boards for the Journal of Financial Counseling and Planning and Journal of Personal Finance.
