Meet Dr. Vidya Nandikolla, Chair and Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Since joining CSUN in 2014, Dr. Nandikolla has been a dedicated contributor to the fields of robotics and medical devices.
Her research interests include robotics, autonomous vehicles, biomedical system modeling and control, hybrid control techniques, mechatronics, and assistive robotics. With over a decade of experience in robotic system design, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers in the areas of robotics, system dynamics, and control.
Currently, Dr. Nandikolla leads a research team focused on developing and testing a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) hybrid control smart autonomous mobile robot, integrating machine learning for pattern recognition.
In addition to her research, Dr. Nandikolla is deeply committed to professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration. She is an active member of several esteemed professional organizations, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
