Vartenie Aramali

Brief Biography
Dr. Vartenie Aramali is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Construction Management at CSUN College of Engineering & Computer Science. Her research interests include EVMS, front-end project planning; use of group-based research methods; engineering, procurement, and construction contracts; EPC project delivery approaches to industrial and sustainable projects; bidding; construction site safety; engineering education, and other topics. She is involved in two main research projects with an overall value of ~$4M sponsored by U.S. Department of Energy and Department of Education. She has contributed to training industry practitioners in public and private sectors through facilitated workshops. She has international industry experience in power and energy projects. She collaborates with faculty to enhance their pedagogy in the engineering curriculum, focusing on HSI. She is the lead of faculty community of practice at www.ecs.csun.edu/sfs2. She is a member of CSUN's Educational Policies Committee since August 2023.
Dr. Aramali worked as a deputy proposal manager for a world-class EPC turnkey contractor for large and complex multimillion-dollar projects in MENA for six years. She has co-authored peer-reviewed journal and conference papers. She is an active reviewer who reviews the quality of research papers submitted to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)'s Journal of Construction Engineering and Management and Journal of Management in Engineering.
