Thomas Chan
Associate Professor
Assistant Professor - Psychology
Brief Biography
I take a strengths-based approach to research and develop systems to improve health and optimal functioning. Specifically, I've received funding from NASA and The Department of Defense to examine the use of augmented reality and artificial intelligence to boost mental health and human-machine team collaboration. Additionally, I was funded by NIH and Johns Hopkins to investigate the role that enriching developmental systems such as mentorships and earlier life activities had on later cognitive functioning and health outcomes.
My end goal is to develop win-win systems that support more humans to flourish -- aka LIVE THEIR BEST LIFE.
