Nelson Mejia Gonzalez is a passionate Mental Health Clinician at the San Fernando Valley Community Mental Health Center, where he provides school-based mental health services to low-income children and families. He works closely with two elementary schools and one middle school in the San Fernando Valley, supporting the emotional well-being and academic success of students through a compassionate, trauma-informed approach.

Nelson earned his B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development with a focus on Early Childhood Development from California State University, Northridge, and went on to complete his Master of Social Work and Pupil Personnel Services Credential at the University of Southern California.

In Spring 2025, Nelson joined the Department of Child and Adolescent Development at CSUN, bringing his real-world experience and dedication to mental health advocacy into the classroom. He is committed to mentoring future professionals and fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments for all students.
