Brief Biography
Nellie Duran, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. She is a registered dietitian with extensive experience in maternal and child health, and HIV/AIDS care. Her research interests include arctic indigenous food systems, global environment change and its impact on food and nutrition security, the role of nutrition in eliminating health disparities, and the translation of nutrigenetics, nutrigenomics, and epigenetics in clinical and public health nutrition.
