Brief Biography
Mr. McCormick holds a B.A. in Film & Video Production from the Picker Institute of Film, at the City College of New York, where he was also the student ambassador to the University of Nigeria. He attained his teaching credential and M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction at California State University Northridge. In addition, Mr. McCormick is National Board Certified, Level 2 Google Educator Certified, and recently completed a micro-credential in STEAM Education.
He currently teaches The Lab @19 at Arminta Street Elementary (LAUSD) and serves as Instructional Device Manager for his campus. As an NBCT, he serves as the EdTech technician and LMS Trainer for LAUSD's Teacher Support Unit and Personalized Learning Systems units respectively. He is author of an interactive children's ebook published by NSTA.
In his previous career, his achievements include work in the theatrical productions of STOMP, Porgy and Bess, Mama I Want to Sing, and God’s Creation. He enjoyed a time as an instrumentalist and recording engineer with many popular music groups on Atlantic, Casablanca, Prelude, and Sleeping Bag Records.
