Brief Biography
Md Sahabul Alam is an Assistant Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Before joining at CSUN, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Systems and Computer Engineering Department at Carleton University, Ottawa, ON, Canada. Dr. Alam received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), Montreal, QC, Canada. Prior to PhD, he obtained his M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from INRS-EMT, Montreal, QC, Canada, and B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) in Khulna, Bangladesh where he also served as a Lecturer for more than three years.
In Ph.D., Dr. Alam awarded the Governor General of Canada Gold Medal which is the highest distinction in graduate level. His current research interests include aerial (UAV and HAPS) communications, integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial communication networks, machine learning assisted wireless physical layer design, smart grid communications, cooperative communications, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) for terrestrial and aerial communications.
Dr. Alam has served as a reviewer for numerous IEEE transactions and conferences and has published more than 30 technical papers in referred journals and international conferences in his field of interests.
