Brief Biography
Dr. Marianne Hattar-Pollara is the founding Chair and past Director of the nursing programs at California State University Northridge. Her research and publications examine cross cultural and global women’s health issues and international nursing. She received her Ph.D. degree from the University of California, San Francisco and a master degree in psychiatric nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN)) a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts (FRSA) and past Chair of the Expert Panel of the Global Nursing and Health of the American Academy of Nursing. She is twice a Fulbright research scholar on women’s health, past member of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Madaba, a Board member of the Center of Excellence for Nursing Scholarship in Rome Italy, and a past member of the National Coalition of Urban Serving Universities in the USA.
