Brief Biography
Kristyan Kouri earned her Ph.D. in Sociology and a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Southern California. She currently teaches in the departments of Sociology and Gender and Women's Studies, and has lectured at CSU, Northridge for twenty-eight years. While Dr. Kouri's early studies focused on black/white interracial couples and their mixed-race families, her current research work examines the interconnections between gender rules, emotional distress, and female perpetrated intimate partner violence.
