Brief Biography
My name is Jenny Serrano and I am an administrator at the Los Angeles County Department of Children & Family Services, with two decades of experience in child welfare. I teach Political Science at Pierce College and have been an adjunct there since 2006. I also teach in the Peer Support Specialist for Youth Certificate Program at Loyola Marymount University.
I have worked in and served on the Boards of early childhood education and foster care nonprofits and am one of the founding parents of Larchmont Charter School. I am active in supporting families with highly and profoundly gifted children and am a certified Mindful Leader through the University of LaVerne's Center for Neurodiversity, Learning, and Wellness.
I am a Matador! I am also an alumni of Los Angeles City College (Go Cubs!). I hold an Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Human Services and a Master of Public Administration. I am a mom of two awesome big kids (ages 24 and 17) and live in the San Fernando Valley.
