Brief Biography
I am the Director of the Composition Program in the English Department, direct the MA option in Rhetoric and Composition, and work with colleagues in developing curriculum for the undergraduate minor in Writing and Rhetoric. I publish books and articles in the discipline that is now known as Writing Studies, focusing on genre theory, Composition theory and pedagogy, Imitation, learning transfer, and literacy. Recently, I have become interested in connections between writing, identity, and research in neuropsychology, and I have recently published a book titled, Writing, Imitation, and Performance: Insights from Neuroscience Research (Routledge/Taylor and Francis, 2023). I am currently working on a book concerned with literacy narratives.
