Brief Biography
Gregory Velazco y Trianosky is an Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at CSUN. He graduated from Georgetown University A.B., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan under the supervision of Richard B. Brandt and William K. Frankena. He has worked at CSUN for 26 years, first as Associate Dean of the College of Humanities, then as Chair of the Philosophy Department, and, from 2008 to 2024, as Professor of Philosophy. His research interests are in the history and philosophy of race, and the ethics of virtue.
