Brief Biography
Professor Farshad Ghodoosi is an Associate Professor of Business Law at the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics at California State University, Northridge. He also serves as a faculty fellow at the Autonomy Research Center, where he leads the Autonomy in Law initiative, conducting research on artificial intelligence, law, and fintech. Additionally, he is a faculty advisor and instructor for the JP Morgan-sponsored Technical Bootcamp series focused on fintech, machine learning, and AI.
Professor Ghodoosi’s research spans contracts, business law, and emerging technologies, with a focus on AI, blockchain, and fintech. He also has written extensively on international economic law. He has published over eighteen (18) articles, a book, and a book chapter in leading law reviews and peer-reviewed journals.
Recipient of grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Knight Foundation, among others, his work has been cited by courts, leading journals, and media outlets. He is also a FINRA Arbitrator, resolving high-stakes financial disputes, and has years of experience as a business litigator handling complex international and domestic cases.
Professor Ghodoosi holds a J.S.D. and LL.M. from Yale Law School, an LL.M. with a Business Law Certificate from Berkeley Law, and a Ph.D. in International Relations from Florida International University. He is a member of the California and New York Bars.
