Brief Biography
"Caleb R. Owens is an industry veteran with a professional career that spans over 3 decades, as a visual effects artist, game artist, animator, and educator. Caleb has held senior positions at Digital Domain, Disney's Dream Quest Images, Sony ImageWorks, Electronic Arts, Square Enix visual effects, and game studios. Caleb was Lead Technical Director for one of the very first CG digital clone face replacements in while working at Digital Domain, Venice Ca. His work on EMP "Young James Brown", would be a catalyst for the future development of CG facial replacement. Along with his many published game credits such as James Bond, Parasite Eve, and Final Fantasy, he has nearly 50 film and hundreds of commercial credits. Throughout his career, Caleb has lectured, taught, and presented at professional conferences, seminars, distinguished universities, and studios. He is published in several books, magazines, and online media. In 1993 Owens completed his BFA at Florida Atlantic University, one of the first Computer Animation Art programs in the country, and later studied in the MFA program. While working professionally Caleb was an important adviser to help shape FAU's MFA in Computer Art program.
Recently completed work on Netflix "Extraction" Post Visualization and Compositing and Compositing Supervisor for Amazon's Underground Railroad, lead digital artist for FotoKem on the Law & Order series. "
