Brief Biography
Betsy Edelberg is a dedicated part-time lecturer in the Department of Child and Adolescent Development and Academic First Year Experiences at California State University, Northridge.
She emphasizes the importance of evidence-based practices and research in developing effective strategies to support the growth and well-being of diverse populations. In her CADV courses, Betsy provides students with a comprehensive understanding of developmental milestones, social-emotional growth, and the influence of culture, family, and environment on child development.
With a strong academic foundation in human development and decades of field experience, Betsy brings a contagious passion for understanding human development and the unique contextual factors that shape it.
Beyond her academic role, she has contributed to various community programs aimed at strengthening support systems for children and families.
Betsy holds a Master of Science in Family and Human Development, a Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Development, and an Associate of Science in Child and Adolescent Development and Early Childhood Education. She is deeply committed to mentoring future professionals in the field and is especially passionate about inspiring her students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges—preparing them to make a meaningful impact in their careers.
