Brief Biography
I am an artist, educator, activist, crafter, mom, avid reader, writer, and nature lover.
I hold my Masters in Art Education from New York University, with a specialty in contemporary art and social justice education, and I have been implementing critical arts pedagogy in k-16 classrooms for over a decade. My goal is to engage students in a critical analysis of issues of identity, social justice, anti-racism, and civic engagement.
I currently serve as the Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Chair for the California Art Education Association, board member at Adding Voices, and member of the National Art Education Association’s policy review committee. I previously served on the National Art Education Associations Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Task Force, and have lectured and consulted for several major museums and art schools (LACMA, DAM, Art Center, CAL Arts, etc.)
